Fixing the Fishermen John 21
The last chapter of John and our last message in our series: The Gospel of John for Seekers, Skeptics & Saints. This message closes our study in the gospel of John through the apologetic lens. John chooses to focus his closing thoughts on the restoration of Peter around a campfire, fish fry. We look at how how the sacred mundane moments of life are the very place where God works. He chooses us as the people to manifest himself to and work through even though we often fail. This sermon encourages anyone who is a seeker, skeptic or saint to consider what Jesus has said and the evidences he gave to prove the truth of his claims. To make the decision to believe and experience the life found in Him.
“Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”

Prayer & Silence
This is a message that I shared at Kaleo Church, one of the churches that we are relationally connected to through our Ecclesia network in Spokane. If the following quote on prayer by C.S. Lewis resonates with your own struggles in prayer, this message will help you.
“Then again, by talking at this length about prayer at all, we seem to give it a much bigger place in our lives than, I’m afraid, it has. For while we talk about it, all the rest of our experience, which in reality crowds our prayer into the margin or sometimes off the page altogether, is not mentioned. Hence, in the talk, an error of proportion which amounts to, though it was not intended for, a lie. Well, let’s now at any rate come clean. Prayer is irksome. An excuse to omit it is never unwelcome. When it is over, this casts a feeling of relief and holiday over the rest of the day. We are reluctant to begin. We are delighted to finish. While we are at prayer, but not while we are reading a novel or solving a crossword puzzle, any trifle is enough to distract us. And we know that we are not alone in this.”

John 11: The presence, pain and power apologetic of Jesus
We will all face death, taste the sting of it and be crushed by the weight of it. Everyone becomes a philosopher and theologian in the aftermath of it. You will find it or it will find you, death is an enemy of what should be and a reality of what is. Everyone has to deal with death be they seeker, skeptic or saint. Many try to deny it, evade it, escape it, some yield to it, hasten it, dance with it, others defy it, romance it, embrace it and some worship it. Most fear it, fight it and try to make peace with it. Jesus faced it, fought it, overpowered it, rescued others from it, suffered it, descended into it, overcame it and destroyed it.
